a multiple years old SLR with an ebay purchased attachment to my freely given telescope.
nothing about it speaks to quality. usually I attempt to setup such a rig, stop to wonder what my neighbours must think, talk loudly to myself about how I’m pointing at the moon to allay neighbour fears or peeping toms, then just give up and think about how I can google pictures of the moon.

oh i don’t use a telescope, just a 300mm lens, but your SLR should be more than capable of taking this shot

I know the theory, but fail at execution. All of my good pictures have come as random chance, or from settings from a previous late night adventure not having been reset and happening to be ideal for this night, as they sucked for the other :P

dude, I can give you foolproof instructions for excellent moon shots, so long as you have a lens with a relatively long focal length
